What is the Lymphoma?
The lymphocytes, which are white blood cells that fight infection, start to multiply abnormally and begin to collect in certain parts of the lymphatic system, such as the lymph nodes (glands).
What is Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma?
Causes
Researchers have discovered that non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is associated with a few risk factors in general, but the exact causes of the disease are still unknown. The following are some of the things that may raise an individual’s chances of developing NHL:
Age: With age increases the risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Immunosuppressants: Prolonged usage of immunosuppressants may increase the risk of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Infections: HIV, Epstein-Barr virus, and Helicobacter pylori infections have all been associated with increased risk of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
